Chloe

Sad day in the hizzy...Chloe Darney was put to sleep after suffering from Heart Failure.

This photo was taken only last week...picture of health and at a face off with her Nemesis.

Last night I was asleep at 10:20 and was woken up by Chloe meowing on the baby monitor. She sometimes sleeps under the crib so I just asked Ryan to go let her out. Well, the door was wide open and she would not come out. He had to pick up the crib to get her out. When she came she looked really skinny and was gasping for air. Very obvious she needed to go to the vet NOW!

I took her to the vet and they said she had heart failure and then rattled off all these things I could do to prolong the doom...my dad met me there and we decided to put her down. It was best...poor kitty was pretty much gone when we did it.

She is now in Kitty Heaven enjoying naps in the sun without disruption, walking around without a big 90 pound dog nose in her rear, and eating all the ice cream she can! We love you sweet Chloe baby.

This little toot...

...crawled all the way up Papa and Pia's stairs yesterday like she owned it. WHY am I so sad at this stuff? I am perfectly fine with 2 kids...in fact would rather not have a 3rd...but still...ugh!

She is precious...just like Hagen James...who has a weapon for a head. Seriously, if I get headbutted (on accident) one more time I am going to put him in a padded helmet. That thing is dangerous!

4th of July!

Ryan is home...life is good!

We didn't have much planned for the 4th but decided to head to Plano (15 minute drive) to my parents house to stay! They were out of town so we crashed at their pad.

They have a crib, diapers, baby food, regular food, beer, you name it! All I had to do was pack clothes and tooth brushes and we were off!

It was wonderful. Ryan and I made daiquiris, we ordered Campisi's Pizza, swam in the pool after the kids went to sleep. SO relaxing!

We came home on Sunday to do things around the house and then went to his Mom's house on Monday to swim and have BBQ.

Hazel is very proud of her new teeth...the two on the bottom. She bit me twice yesterday! Had to check and make sure "it" was still there. I screamed OUCH and put her down sitting on the floor. Poor girl got her feelings hurt and would bend at the waist and put her face in the carpet...and just cry. Hopefully we have the hang of it now!

Hagen asked what happened and I said she bit me! He responded with "Hazel do not bite Mama's Hips!" Obviously he has overheard Ryan say "nips"...lovely.

Short week of work this week...swimming lessons after school everyday...two t-ball games...man, I'm glad Ryan is home this week!

As we speak, Ryan is at the doctor talking about getting fixed...mixed emotions about this. I do not like the permanence of it all. I am perfectly fine with 2, but have that "what if" in the back of my mind. I'm very thankful that he offered to get it done. I never would have asked him to.

Carrie

I'm still here...

...just the worst blogger EVA!

  • Ryan has been traveling...the AC went out and I had a flat tire...he is not to leave town anymore because crap happens when he does!

  • Hazel has her two bottom teeth! Sweet tooths...she has yet to bite me...I'm kinda scared for when she get the top two and has more power!

  • Hagen has been not listening AT.ALL. And he talks non-stop. I love you buddy but take a freaking breath!

  • We have so many bunnies in the neighborhood that Dapper has taken it upon himself to lower it by killing/eating the babies...gross and disturbing!

  • Hazel is pulling up on things and is even trying to walk around things. She will be 8 months on the 4th of July...seems to early for me!

  • Hazel is also feeding herself food! Not much time in the baby food department...I have a freezer full of homemade baby food...she still eats it but it is just way too easy to give her what we are eating.

  • Hagen spilled a whole can of peas on the newly mopped floors last night...I about came unglued...had to count to 10.

  • I have the best neighbors in the world! Both sides are older retired couples. They knew Ryan was out of town and one of them put my trashcans back for me...how sweet!

  • Hagen is doing swimming lessons and is getting really good. Working on taking breaths so he can swim farther.

  • We are vacationing at my parents house this weekend. They are out of town...have a pool...so we are packing up and heading to Plano for the weekend. So excited! AND campisi's pizza delivers to their house so no cooking! Ryan and I have talked about skinny dipping after the kids are asleep...nothing like a bare swim!

  • Hagen FINALLY outgrew his 6-12 month swimsuit that he has been sporting for 4 years now...finally.

  • Both kids are coughing...perfect timing for a holiday weekend

  • I have found a new love. The grilled chicken salad with fat free honey mustard from Chick-fil-a is fabulous! It is only 280 calories too! So good and fresh!

  • I work with great guys. One did not hesitate to help change my flat in the blazing heat...not one whimper!

That's all I got...life is good but just not note worthy lately!

Hagen is 4!!

Hagen is 4! Where did the time go?
We had a joint birthday party for him and Noah at Pizza Planet that included a visit from Spiderman (a good friend of ours dressed up). He had some friends from school and had a great time!!

He went to the doctor and is projected to be 5 feet 5 inches when he grows up. Ryan wasn't even supposed to be 5 foot tall but he is almost 5 foot 8 inches, so we will wait and see if this holds true for Hagen.

His stats were: 30 pounds 4 ounces (5%) and 39 inches (20%) tall. He was a champ through the 4 shots he endured...I laid over his face and whispered to him like my Mom use to do for me.

We signed Hagen up to play t-ball this summer and we are SO excited to see if he likes it! I will for sure as I am dying to become "that" Mom at sporting events that is crazy!!

Hagen is really into Hazel. He likes to feed her, bring her toys, and just love on her. He is always remarking how beautiful she is and how pretty her dresses are. She loves him just as much unless he is loud and screech which is often.

Some of Hagen's favorite things:

1. Jake and the Neverland pirates

2. Superheros - Spiderman, Captain America, Hulk, and Thor

3. LOVES frozen meatballs and raw carrots

4. Drinks water and milk for the most part

5. CANDY...not much on cakes and cookies, but candy is his favorite

6. He loves his new 4 wheeler he got for his birthday from Papa and Pia

7. Hanging out in the yard with Daddy fixing things

8. The iPad...he is very smart with it and moves the icons around all the time.

9. Says "I love you" to us multiple times a day...very loveable

10. Goes to bed at 7 and sleeps for 12 - 13 hours...SO lucky

11. Likes to play his guitar...I see lessons in the future

12. When I am breastfeeding Hazel at night before bed, he likes to sit next to me and rock her with me.

We love you big guy...and we are so proud of the little man you have become!

Mother's Day 2011

I feel so blessed. I love my babies. This Mother's Day weekend was great! We hung out by the blow up pool on Saturday and just chilled. It was so nice...just like old times! Ryan and I have been drinking our fair share of Beer Punch. It is so refreshing!
On Sunday morning I got up bright and early at 6:30 because Miss Hazel was ready to party. Ryan slept right through it. Hagen woke up at 7:00 and wasn't feeling well (Strep) and Ryan slept through that too. I wanted to strangle someone. BUT I didn't because I was going to have a day at the spa! Before I left Hagen and Hazel performed a mother's day song for me. Sung to the tune of Happy Birthday it was Happy Mother's Day. So cute...Hagen on the guitar and Hazel on the drums. I loved it!!

At the spa I had a Massage, a facial, and a pedicure. It was fabulous. I'll be honest, I was sick and tired of hearing "sun damage" and "sun worshiper" during my facial. I like the sun. I may pay for it later, but for now I'm enjoying it.

Dinner was prepared by the Mr. Wingstop and an ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins complete with 2 candles...one for me and one for Hagen.

Now with all the celebrating, no laundry got done so the babes are sleeping in whatever I can find. Ryan is out of under ware which in my defence if I was grabbing my last pair I would probably throw a load in the washer. But no...he just told me a couple of nights ago that he was out...and stared at me...and I said, "well you sent me to the spa".

The only reason I posted the pic of me and Hazel in the baby pool is to document my large boobies...I swear that is the only reason I am breastfeeding.

Hazel did FABULOUS at her blood draw yesterday! Didn't even flinch when they stuck her arm and took a HUGE vial of blood! Atta girl!

Hazel is 6 months old!

Yes, it's true...she is 6 months old!! :( She is growing up so quickly! We are past the crazy marathon feedings at night and she is sleeping 12 hours and getting up once to eat...not bad! She only naps 3 times a day for about 20 minutes. Girl likes to party!!
Her favorite toy by far is a squeaky toy giraffe named "Sophie"...she loves it! She has started eating veggies (Carrots, Green Beans, and now Squash) and LOVES eating baby rice crackers. I think she is going to cruise through baby food and want to feed herself pretty quick!

Her favorite person is Hagen...she just LOVES him! He is so good with her too which is great.

She is going to have some allergy testing for food allergies. She gets a little rash around her mouth and since I am having to supplement 2-4 ounces of formula a day it could be because of that. So she will have to have a blood draw...that doesn't sound fun for anyone involved AT.ALL. Ryan had a milk allergy so hopefully she won't get that from him!

Her stats:

Weight: 13 pounds 8 ounces (10%)

Length: 26" (50-75%)

Head Cir: 16 1/2" (25-50%)

She will be a little petite thing...like her brother!

Hazel has been enjoying sitting up by herself, sitting in the bath and splashing, starting to babble, loves listening to Metalica lullaby music, and is miss grabby...if you walk by something she lunges to reach for it and grab it...paper is a favorite.

That's all on our little sweet Hazel Grace! In a few weeks I will have a big 4 year old report...:((((

Carrie
